I’m a lifelong Mainer, graduate of Sanford High School and the University of Maine and proud outdoors man. It’s been an honor to spend my career serving my community as an educator, coach, town selectman and state senator.
Growing up on my family’s farm in Waterboro, I learned early the value and rewards of good, honest work. Keeping family tradition alive, I continue to grow my own beef, poultry and eggs and cut 14 cord of wood each year to heat my home. I love the outdoors and cherish Maine’s rich heritage of farming, fishing and hunting.
I’m blessed to have two beautiful adult daughters Meaghan and Kate, both successful professionals. My large family continues to live in Waterboro, including my two brothers – one a veteran, the other a small business owner.
After 35 years teaching at Massabesic High School and Fryeburg Academy, I retired in 2014 to focus on the challenges our great state faces. I believe strongly in personal responsibility, common-sense solutions and the Maine way of life and will work tirelessly to make Maine a state of opportunity for all its hardworking families.
